HOW TO BAG A CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP DEAL?

ARTISTE CONNECT PROJECT TIPS

HOW TO BAG A CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP DEAL?

Here in Artiste Connect, project owners tend to depend on pledges from fans, friends, families, and aficionados.  If you already have a strong following and also have the power of persuasion, your project may already be picking up.  However, in every Artiste Connect project page, you will notice the “Corporate Sponsorship” button.  Many artists have left this untouched because it seems to be a long shot, especially when one is not familiar how to lure a corporate sponsor.  It’s either they are anti-capitalist and just refuse to be associated with them.  We don’t blame them— to each his own.  Yet there are also artists out there that are open to the idea and just don’t know how to deal with them.  Let’s face the truth, artists want to concentrate in creating and if possible, not with business.  Although, some artists are also great business men like the great Godfather of soul— James Brown who was both:  performer and entrepreneur.  There are also artists who handle their own record label like Jay-Z and Sean Jean Combs (Puff Daddy).  On the other hand, not everybody are as gifted.

Corporate sponsorship is a quick way to speed up your funding and reaching your target amount.  Read on for some insider tips from Artiste Connect how to deal with corporate sponsorship and how to apply them to your projects.

Deliver your message in a sentence

Use your Artiste Connect page as your online Sponsorship Letter and treat it like an advertisement.  Everybody is on the go on the internet, give them a link and if it doesn’t catch them in a second; they’re on to their next business.  Make your Artiste Connect page short, sweet, but full of meat.

The Sponsorship Letter

If you are determined to complete your project and really could use the extra funds, it would also help to do some extra leg work.  Do it yourself, and the old school way still helps—Sponsorship Letters.  Look up “how to make sponsorship letters” on the web, this can help you make a more effective letter to your sponsors.  See sample sponsorship letter here –

Media Values

In bringing in corporate sponsorship to your projects, explore all possible multimedia strategies that translate to media values.  Sponsors are interested on cost effective advertising from:  banner placement in your official website or during your event, physical or online posters, logo on tickets, viral videos on social networking sites, radio commercials, print ads or promo articles, and moreover TV advertisements.

Discrete sponsorship

When a company wants to support a music artist, band, or film, you can invite them to place their logos in your products.  If you’re the type who can’t handle too much branding, offer them the back of your T-shirt.  The inner or back sleeve of your CD also wouldn’t hurt too much.  State the exact size of logos that you offer.  Give optional sizes.  In this way your client will know your boundaries.  If they really want the front side of your shirt, CD, or a larger logo in your poster; make this opportunity to demand more money.  For Filmmakers, when a company wants to support a film, directors and producers can consider ad placement in:  physical or online promotional posters, tickets, or logo only on the Closing Billboard Credits (CBB).  If they want their logo on the Opening Billboard Credits (OBB), it is just right that you can charge more.

Yet, if still you don’t want any branding in your products, artists also can accept sponsorships by providing services as exchange deals (x-deals) such as playing in a company event or creating a jingle for the company’s products.  Providing video coverage support for a sponsor’s event or up to producing Audio Visual Presentations (AVPs) for them are also agreeable deals.

Be a team player

If a corporate sponsor seems to be interested in your project, galvanize this opportunity.  Show them you can be a team player.  Show them that there is more to your project than what your sponsorship letter or Artiste Connect Pledge Package states.  Show them that you are giving them more than you promised for the same deal.  Example:   if you are a music artist, if you promised to play one of their events, give them two.  If you are a filmmaker, give them an extra product shot.

How can Artiste Connect help Corporate Sponsorship deals that enter thru my Artiste Connect page?

When you have a firm Corporate Sponsor interested in your project, talk to us.  Email us at:  info@artisteconnect.com or call us up at:  Tel Nos. (02) 9149701 / (02) 4709800 / (02) 3453795.  We are backed up by an Intellectual Property Rights lawyer.  We can help you draft contracts to gain trust from your sponsors and also so that they will not swindle you in return.

Conclusion

In the Artiste Connect world, we always say to our project owners that— the success of their projects really depends on their strategy to promote and secure their supporters.  Artiste Connect is simply a tool.  Your project will not progress by just opening shop at Artiste Connect and all the same when bagging a corporate sponsor.  The more enticing your sponsorship letter, media values or Pledge Package; the more cash support you can bag faster for your project.

Make time, put extra effort into your project, make phone calls, ask your neighborhood business establishments, ask around who may be interested in such an endeavor.  Set meetings with them.  Make them know you are determined and are putting good service in their money’s worth.
